Kessel’s art mural on display in Huntington exhibition

by Kate Evans

Berkeley Springs High School  junior Elizabeth (Ella) Kessel’s art mural of a musician playing a guitar was placed on the West Edge Factory building in Huntington, West Virginia  along with other individual student art murals.

The drive-through “Alley Gallery” outdoor art exhibition opening took place on January 25.

Kessel created her guitarist mural and other paintings at the West Virginia Governor’s School for the Arts that she attended at Marshall University last  summer. Art murals from other West Virginia students that participated in the Governor’s School for the Arts were also on display.

The art works covered the many windows that fill the West Edge Factory building, which is now a refurbished space for artisans and creative businesses.

More art exhibits are planned throughout the year.
