Indian boys win one over Moorefield

The Berkeley Springs Indians basketball team split a pair of games this past week with two schools from Hardy County.

On Tuesday, January 9 the Indians traveled to Moorefield for a contest with the Yellow Jackets. After the first two quarters of play the Tribe trailed the Yellow Jackets 31- 29. The third and fourth quarter saw the Indians use a 27-13 run to take the 56-44 win.

Berkeley Springs was led by Landon Schetrompf (16 points), Isaiah Hutchinson (12 points), Jake Aulabaugh (5 points), Breenan Hoover (2 points), Jake Shekey (7 points), Holden Gurson (6 points), Dakota Hamrick (6 points) and Joe Houdersheldt (2 points).

On Thursday, January 11 the

Tribe hosted the top ranked Class A East Hardy Cougars. The Cougars came out fast and took a 37-27 halftime lead. In the final two quarters East Hardy pulled away to take the 69-47 win.

The Tribe were led by Isaiah Hutchinson (14 points), Holden Gurson (12 points), Dakota Hamrick (10 points), Jake Aulabaugh (5 points), Landon Schetrompf (4 points) and Breenan Hoover (2 points).

Next up for the Indians (2-8) was a home contest on January 16 with Broadfording Christian Academy. The JV game will started at 6 p.m., and the varsity followed at 7:30 p.m.. Then on Friday, January 19 the Indians will host the Hampshire Trojans. The JV game will start at 6 p.m., and the varsity will follow at 7:30 p.m.
