Lady Indians takes win over Southern Fulton, loses on road to Frankfort

The Berkeley Springs Lady Indians had two games this past week and were able to pick up a win over Southern Fulton (Pa.). However, Berkeley Springs suffered a setback against on the top teams in Class AA Frankfort.

On Wednesday, December 13 the Lady Indians hosted the Southern Fulton Lady Indians at the Berkeley Springs gym. In the first quarter Southern Fulton jumped out to a 13-7 lead. Berkeley Springs rallied with a 17-9 run in the second quarter to take a 24-22 halftime lead. In the third quarter continued their hot play outscoring

Southern Fulton 14-2 to increase their lead to 38-24. Southern Fulton made a run in the final quarter outscoring the Tribe 16-10, however it was not enough and Berkeley Springs held on for the 48-40 win.

Berkeley Springs was led by Maddie Fauver (15 points and 6 rebounds), Maddie Close (14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists), Tenacious Ray (6 points), Grace Risinger (5 points and 9 rebounds), Katie Risinger (4 points), Marley Heath (2 points) and Melissa Seabright (2 points).

On Friday, December 15 the Lady Indians hit the road for contest at Frankfort HighSchool and high scoring Falcons. Frankfort jumped out to a 24-5 halftime lead and cruised from there to a 59-24 win over the Lady Indians (2- 2).

Berkeley Springs was led by Maddie Close (7 points), Katie Risinger (5 points), Eva Jacobsen (4 points), Melissa Seabright (4 points), Grace Risinger (2 points) and Marley Heath (2 points).

Berkeley Springs hosted Hedgesville on Monday, December 18 at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, December 19 the Lady Indians traveled to Grace Christian Academy for a 5 p.m. contest.
