Hobert Lee Delph, 19 months, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Friday, November 3, 2023 at WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

Born April 1, 2022 in Morgantown, W.Va., he was the son of Hobert Lawrence and Chelsea Ann Hessler Delph of Berkeley Springs.

Lee had a smile that lit up a whole room, and a laugh that was contagious. He loved music, trucks and anything with wheels. He loved dancing with and chasing his sister, Emma.

Lee will be remembered as a warrior who fought all the obstacles put in his path, and a hero to his family and the families of the children he was able to save.

In addition to his parents, he was survived by his sister, Emma Ann Delph, at home, paternal grandmother, Ann Margaret O’Donnell Delph, maternal grandparents, Donald Craig and Pamela Jean Lewis Hessler, maternal great-grandmother, Patricia Stotler Hessler, all of Berkeley Springs, paternal great-grandfather, Hobert Lee Delph and his wife, Cindy of Tennessee, aunts, Jodi Lewis Bolyard and her husband, Travis, Mary Harrison and Elizabeth “Beth” Delph, uncles, Scott Hessler and his wife, Kendall, Joe L. Delph, Jr., and Joseph “Joey” Harrison and many cousins.

Lee was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joe Lee Delph, paternal great-grandmother, Nancy Elizabeth Colson Delph and maternal great-grandfather, Donald “Tex” Hessler.

Celebration of Life Services will be announced at a later date.
