Lady Indians Soccer take out Petersburg and Keyser

After scoring their first win of the season the week before, the Berkeley Springs Lady Indians were on a mission to build on that. With high temperatures and heat index, the Lady Indians hosted the Petersburg Lady Vikings at Morgan Field last Tuesday, September 5.

In a back and forth game between both teams for most of the game saw Berkeley Springs use a fast pace to wear down the Lady Vikings and pick up a 4-3 win.

Scoring goals for Berkeley Springs were Circe Powell who had two, Lilly Morgan and Scotlyn Forney. Tenacious Ray and Janelle Aspey each had an assist. Goalkeeper Miyah Saville recorded 10 saves in the net.

On Thursday, September 7 the Lady Indians hit the road for a key sectional contest at Keyser. The first half saw both teams battle to a 0-0 score. In the second half the Lady Indians stayed patient and took control of the game and picked up the 2-0 win over Keyser.

Scoring goals for Berkeley Springs were Melissa Seabright and Circe Powell. Goalkeeper Miyah Saville was solid in the net picking up her first shutout with 20 saves.

Berkeley Springs (3-3) was be back on the pitch Tuesday, September 12 when they traveled to Frankfort for a 5 p.m. contest. On Saturday, September 16 the Lady Indians will travel to East West Stadium in Fairmont, for an 11 a.m. contest with the East Fairmont Bees.
