This past Saturday, September 9, the members of the Berkeley Springs High School cross country team hit the road to Ridgeley. The Indians long distance runners were looking to improve their times at the Frankfort Invitational held at Frankfort High School.
The Lady Indians finished in eighth place out of twelve teams. The girl’ s race featured 86 runners in the varsity race. Leading the way was senior Audrey Helmick who finished in tenth place with a time of 22:40 to earn another medal.
Berkeley Springs also got finishes from Isabelle Bingaman (33rd place, 25:40), Katie Risinger (41st place, 26:53), Kayleigh Coulter (58th place, 29:05), Eva Sealey (65th place, 30:34) and Cheyenne Lewis (82nd place, 36:09).
The Indian team finished in 15th place out of 15 teams. The boy’ s race featured 107 runners in the varsity race. Berkeley Springs was led by LJ Sealey (44th place, 20:24),
Ethan Rawlings (74th place, 22:31), Josh Walls (85th place, 23:04), Haven Ailor (96th place, 24:53), Ian Holmes (99th place, 25:07), Jake Risinger (101st place, 25:50) and Liam Stewart (103rd place, 26:06).
Berkeley Springs will be back in action on Saturday, September 16 when they host the annual Berkeley Springs Invitational at the Cacapon State Park cross country course.
