by Jamie Harris

Last Friday, September 1 the Berkeley Springs Indians varsity football team hosted the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils at Morgan Field. The Indians were coming off a road loss at Petersburg and was hoping to catch the 1-0 Pennsylvania team off guard to pick up win number one.

Greencastle jumped out to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter and had the Indians reeling. The second quarter did not go any better for Berkeley Springs. The Blue Devils matched the first quarter output with three more touchdowns to take a commanding 42-0 into the locker room at the half.

The third and fourth quarters saw a running clock and Greencastle pulling their starters. Berkeley Springs got a touchdown in the third quarter from quarterback

Aiden Cain. The extra point conversion was denied. Greencastle kept the Indians out of the end zone for the remainder of the game to take the 42-6 win.

Berkeley Springs (0-2) will travel to East W est Stadium this Friday, September 8 for a contest with the East Fairmont Bees. East Fairmont (1-1) picked up a win last week against Grafton. Kick- off is slated for 7 p.m.
