Cirigliana, C. Powell, Ray & Seabright score goals

Last Thursday evening, August 24, the Berkeley Springs Lady Indians soccer team hosted the Frankfort Falcons in a key sectional contest at Morgan Field. The youthful Berkeley Springs squad was ready to come out and show the visitors from Mineral County that they would not be pushovers this season.
Berkeley Springs jumped out to a lead behind goals from Melissa Seabright, Tenacious Ray and Albani Cirigliana before Frankfort rallied to tie the game in the second half.

With eight minutes left in the contest freshmen Circe Powell came up her first varsity goal to give the Lady Indians the 4-3 win.
Freshman Emma Frederick had an assist as well for Berkeley Springs. Getting shots on goal for Berkeley Springs were Lilly Morgan, Delilah Rhoten, Tenacious Ray, Melissa Seabright, Albani Cirigliana, Georgia Powell, Mikayla Elmes, Scotlyn Forney, Circe Powell and Emma Frederick.
Senior goalkeeper Miyah Saville had four saves while freshman keeper Willow Rhoten had six saves.
This past Saturday, August 26, the Lady Indians travelled to McConnellsburg, Pa., to take on McConnellsburg High School. In a game with hot temperatures the Spartans came out on top with a 6-0 win.
Willow Rhoten had six saves in goal while Miyah Saville had nine saves. Berkeley Springs got shots on goal from Circe Powell and Sophie Bryner.
Berkeley Springs (1-2) will next be in action this Thursday, August 31 at Hampshire High School. The game is slated to start at 5 p.m.
