Bath ballot order picked Tuesday

by Trish Rudder

The Bath Town Clerk, Sharron Corrick said in an email on Monday that the drawing for the candidates’ names to appear on the ballot will be held at 10 a.m. on May 2 at Town Hall.

Two ballot commissioners will randomly draw the candidate names and record the order they will appear on the ballot.

After the drawing, the candidate names on the ballot will be given to The Morgan Messenger to publish.

There are nine town residents running for the five Bath Town Council seats for a two-year term that begins July 1.

The candidates are Rob Campbell, Rev. Bob Emerick, Thomas (Tom) Hall, Mary Lynn Hickey, Rebecca MacLeod, David O’Connell, Greg Schene and current councilwoman Elizabeth Skinner, who is running for reelection.

The one write-in candidate, Joseph Giles will not appear on the ballot, but his name will be posted on the Town Hall door and on the ballot table when voting begins, Corrick said.

Mayor Scott Merki and Town Recorder Susan Webster are running unopposed for reelection and will be at the top of the ballot.

Early voting begins on May 20 and ends June 3.

The last day to register to vote is May 23, three weeks prior to election.

Election Day is Tuesday, June 13.
