Paw Paw Mayor Darlene Abe will have no challenges to her re-election bid this June, but Paw Paw council seats attracted interest during the candidate filing period.
Candidates interested in running for office in Paw Paw filed paperwork to enter the race earlier this month. The candidate filing period ended last Tuesday, April 18.
Paw Paw voters will choose a mayor and five council members on June 6.
Those seeking the office of mayor will be running for a four-year term. Town council members serve for a two-year term.
Darlene Abe filed to run for mayor for a second four-year term. She has no opposition in that race.
Six town residents are running for five council seats. Those candidates include incumbents Sherry Rowzee, John Pritchard and Mary Parker Marcus, plus Ricki Armel, Barbara Davis and James Ringley.
Paw Paw’s Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, June 6. Polls at Town Hall will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.
Town officials are seeking citizens to work the polls that day.
