John Wayne Hovermale
1964-2023
John Wayne Hovermale, age 58, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at his home with his loving family by his side and while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born October 30, 1964 in Berkeley Springs, he was son of the late Robert “Bobby” and Barbara Twigg Hovermale.
He was a graduate of Spring Hill High School in Texas.
John worked as a dump truck driver with the Department of Highways. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing, especially for salmon.
John is survived by his fiancé, Regina Jo McCoy at home, his stepchildren, Renee Lynn McCoy of Berkeley Springs and Jesse Ross McCoy of Martinsburg, W.Va., his siblings, Robin Gaither and Jimmy Hovermale, both of Berkeley Springs, three step grandchildren, Summer Yacenech, Krisha McCoy, Phillip McCoy, all of Berkeley Springs, step great-grandchildren, Connor McElroy, Cohen Yacenech and Lavin Christy and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Spring.
A Celebration of Life for John will be from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the Risinger-Stotler VFW Post #4019, 4490 Valley Road, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Burial will be private.
