At the January 17 Bath Town Council meeting, Councilwoman Rose Jackson, who chairs the Public Safety committee, said Cook is the interim police chief.

Former Police Chief Tony Link resigned on January 16. Link is an officer with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department.

Cook said he has been in law enforcement for 30 years. He came to Berkeley Springs from the Hancock, Md. police department and has been working part time for the Town of Bath.

“I love this town; the town’s nice,” Cook said at the council meeting.

“I will stay interim chief as long as needed,” he said.
