1934-2022

Jeannine Lee DiPietro, 88, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died peacefully at home on December 13, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Born in Morgantown, W.Va. on April 14, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Hershel Dove and Bessie Jane Blankenship Dove.

She was a graduate of Morgantown High School and was a substitute teacher for Prince Georges County Schools at Robert Goddard Middle School for over 15 years.

She enjoyed playing bingo every week, entertaining family and friends and playing slot machines.

She is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Tony J. DiPietro, Sr., of Berkeley Springs W.Va., Jeannine met Tony while he was serving in the Army and was preparing to deploy to Korea. They promised to write letters over that time and ended up falling in love over their love letters. They were married in Morgantown, W.Va. June 27, 1953; her son Tony J. DiPietro, Jr and his wife Jeryl Ann, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Her daughter Jane Keightly and her husband Jack, of Yulee Florida, her son Michael DiPietro and his partner Jimmy Horner, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., her five grandchildren, Jeffrey DiPietro and his wife Kelli, Amy DiPietro and her special friend Brian, Timothy DiPietro, Steve Johnson and his wife Bridget and Joey Johnson and his wife Lynsey, as well as her four great-grandchildren, Nicolas DiPietro, Kaylee Johnson, Alexander Moretz and Colton Johnson, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her brothers Gene Dove and Billy Dove, and her sisters Louise Benson, Zelda Leona Dove Krivak, Marion (Mary Ann) Dove and Marlene Little.

Internment will be private. A celebration of life will be held by her family at a later date.
