The Morgan County School Board approved the following personnel changes at their November 15 meeting:
Mark Landis was hired as a Berkeley Springs High School social studies teacher, the effective date to be determined.
Libby Riley was employed as a Warm Springs Middle School sixth grade teacher starting January 3.
Widmyer Elementary second grade teacher Krista Shives was granted an unpaid leave of absence from March 6, 2023 to March 31, 2023.
Cortney Kile, Paw Paw Elementary fourth/fifth grade teacher, is resigning effective at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
Lydia Styles was employed as a substitute nurse beginning November 28.
Kathleen Kaiser was hired as a substitute teacher starting November 16.
Service personnel
Ashley Waugh was employed as a Berkeley Springs High School itinerant recovery aide beginning November 16.
Keri Puffenberger transferred from a position as Widmyer Elementary aide/ECCAT (elementary childhood classroom assistant teacher) to a position as Widmyer Elementary, Transportation itinerant special education aide/bus aide starting December 7.
Janice Kump was hired as an emergency substitute custodian beginning November 16.
Widmyer Elementary aide Bea Shaw was approved for an unpaid leave of absence from November 14 to December 10.
Warm Springs Intermediate School cook Robin Vanorsdale was given an unpaid leave of absence from from November 21 to December 9.
Kelly Bohrer was hired as a substitute aide starting November 28.
Restructure position
The school board approved restructuring the county truck driver, welder, general maintenance, carpenter II and locksmith position to a county truck driver, general maintenance and locksmith position.
Addition position
The school board approved an additional position of a full-time Widmyer Elementary classroom aide for the rest of the 2022-2023 school year. The funding source is a West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) grant.
The board also okayed restructuring a full-time Widmyer Elementary aide/ECCAT position to a fulltime Widmyer Elementary classroom aide position. The funding source is a West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) grant.
Extracurricular/Extra duty
Shannon Brown was hired as a Widmyer Elementary kindergarten team leader starting November 16.
Kim Khuen was employed for pre/post supervision at Berkeley Springs High School beginning November 16.
Michael Bergen was employed as a supplemental bus run bus driver starting November 17.
Coaches
Jason Hoover was hired as a Warm Springs Middle School volunteer assistant boys’ basketball coach beginning November 16 for the 2022-2023 season.
Robert Ambrose was approved as a Berkeley Springs High School volunteer assistant boys’ freshman basketball coach starting November 16.
Mike Riggleman was employed as a Berkeley Springs High School volunteer assistant wrestling coach beginning November 16 for the 2002-2023 season.
Tory Bennett was hired as a Warm Springs Middle School volunteer assistant wrestling coach starting November 16 for the 2002-2023 season.
Jamie Harris resigned as Berkeley Springs High School assistant boys’ soccer coach effective at the end of November 30.
