Virginia Hess
1932-2022
Virginia Hess, 89, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022.
She was born in Wilson, N.C., on February 24, 1932, to George W. and Annie (Jones) Ellis.
Her childhood was in Hopewell, Va.
She retired from Londontowne Factory in Hancock, Md.
She was preceded in death by one son, Orlyn Norman Hess, Jr., who passed away on June 19, 1971, at the age of 17; her husband, Orlyn, who passed on March 3, 2008; three brothers, Glen, Cecil and Elmer Ellis and one sister, Etta Mae Boyette.
Virginia is survived by her son, Michael Lynn Hess, Warfordsburg, Pa.; her daughter, Carolyn Spoonire, McConnellsburg, Pa.; two granddaughters, Miranda Miller and Amber Middlekauff; three great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons; one sister, Sarah Solesbee, Prince George, Va.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 5, at Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750. Rev. Richard Bernhard officiated. Interment followed at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, 3013 Pleasant Grove Rd, Warfordsburg, PA 17267.
