Phyllis Jean Fox
1934-2022
Phyllis Jean Fox, age 88, of Hedgesville, W.Va., died on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born February 15, 1934 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Wilford and Virginia Jean Cain Somers.
She was a member of the Independent Church of God in Hedgesville. She attended the Spohrs Crossroads School and Berkeley Springs High School. Mrs. Fox was a homemaker and enjoyed puzzles, game shows, cooking, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Steven Clyde Fox and his wife Lori, Robert Wayne Fox and his wife Sharon and Michael Lynn Fox and his wife Teresa, all of Hedgesville, Keith Douglas Fox and his wife Sue and Roger Lee Fox and his wife Susan, all of Berkeley Springs and Ronald Dean Fox and his wife Deloris of Chambersburg, Pa., her sister, Carol Emerson of Berkeley Springs, six brothers, James L Somers, Dale Somers, Denny Somers, Louis Somers and David Somers, all of Berkeley Springs and Randy Somers of Inwood, W.Va., 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Arden Fox, three brothers, Joe, Gary and “Bicycle Bob” Somers and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Independent Church of God, 8703 Martinsburg Road, Hedgesville, W.Va. where the family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Pastors Lynnie and Ada Ambrose will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
