Patsy Josephine Stotler
1941-2022
Patsy Josephine “Pat” Stotler, age 80, of Hedgesville, W.Va., died on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born August 20, 1941 in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Stephen Shaffer and Goldie Blanche Garlock Shives.
She was a member of Michael’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Pat graduated from Hancock High School.
She retired from Morgan County Schools after 21 years of service as a bus driver. After retiring, she worked seasonally with Lutman’s Orchard, then went to work for 10 years as a cashier with Walmart, Inc. in Martinsburg, W.Va. In recent years she worked as a private caregiver.
Pat was group leader of the Apache 4-H and was on the Camp Frame 4-H Camp Board of Directors in Hedgesville, W.Va. She was member of the Morgan County Farm Bureau, Hemlock Homemakers/Morgan County CEOS, where she was named the 2012 Morgan County Belle.
Pat enjoyed sewing, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, hunting, fishing, and cross stitch.
She never met a stranger.
Pat is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jack William Stotler at home, her children, Diana Master and Kirk Stotler, both of Hedgesville, Pamela Kerns and her husband, Jeffery, both of Capon Bridge, W.Va. and James Novak of Hedgesville, whom she loved like a son, seven grandchildren, Whitney, T.J., Amber, Bethany, Matthew, Taylor and Garrett, five great-grandchildren, Jayden, Zayne, Landon, Walker and Marshall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Lee Shives.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hedgesville. The family received friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
