1960-2022

Patricia “Patty” Lee Smith, 62, formerly of Great Cacapon, W.Va., passed away on March 3, 2022 at Dawn View Nursing Home in Fort Ashby, W.Va.

Born February 1, 1960 in West Palm Beach, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Richard Marshall and Nancy Tavenner.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry “Sport” Smith as well as her brothers George, Walter, Richard II, and Jeff Marshall and sisters Antoinette Hall and Judy Miller.

Patty was a 1978 graduate of Montgomery County Public Schools. Many have fond memories of working with her at Magruder’s Grocery as the Deli Manager and Soup’s On in Rockville, Md. as well as Tari’s Café in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

In her free time, Patty enjoyed spending time with her family and doting on her beloved dogs and birds.

Over the last several years of her life, Patty lived in Dawn View Nursing Home.

Her family is thankful for the loving care they provided her in her final years.

Patty will be most remembered for her quick wit and unique sense of humor.

She is survived by her brothers Jim Tieman and his wife Lynn of Saline, Mich. and Joe Marshall and his wife Denise of Little Orleans as well as her stepchildren Denise Mitchell, Bobby Faucette, David Faucette and wife Crystal, Sandy Judkins and husband Scott, Tammy Simmons and husband Wayne, Jackie Jordan and husband Kenny, Billy Joe, as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
