Mary Louise “Goog” Yost

1941-2021

Mary Louise “Goog” Yost, age 79, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Monday, August 16, 2021 surrounded by her loving family and while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born December 5, 1941 in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Clyde Perry, Sr. and Charlotte Steiner Perry.

She was a member of the Berkeley Springs Church of Christ.

Goog loved cooking and baking. Every day was “Thanksgiving” when you went to her house for dinner. She loved yardwork and gardening. Goog especially loved spending time with her family and out bidding everyone playing Rook. She was also willing to help anyone in need.

Goog is survived by her husband of 60 years David W. “Tiny” Yost, at home; her children, Jeff Yost, Teresa White-Curtis and her husband Tom, John Yost and his wife Cindy, all of Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Cynthia Perry, of Berkeley Springs and Stephanie Diane Porter, of Falling Waters, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Johnny Yost and his wife Tiffany, Bridgett Yost and her significant other Martin, Hallie White, Becky Yost and her significant other Brandon; four great grandchildren, Harmony Willis, Laurel Widdows, Levi and Wyatt Yost and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Malcom, Priscilla Shambaugh and Sylvia Perry, and two brothers, Edward Perry and Clyde “Sonny” Perry, Jr.

Services and burial for Goog will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Goog’s memory may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
