F. Lee Swillinger

F. Lee Swillinger, born December 9, 1928 and known by his nickname from birth as “Speedy” passed away on May 1, 2022.

Preceded by his loving wife of 68 years, JoAnn (nee Pring) Swillinger, his Little Jo.

He will be missed by his “girls” daughters, Linda Eatore and Kat Reinhardt, favorite granddaughter, Farah Foss, grandsons, Richard Foss and Tyler Reinhardt, two great-grandchildren, Kase and Kyla Reinhardt and his faithful dog companions, Cleo and Charlie.

Speedy grew up in Kanawha City W.Va. and lived in California, Ohio and New Jersey as an executive in the glass industry.

During his career he traveled the world and invented and received multiple patents for his work.

Upon retiring as CEO of Denton Glass and Vacuum in 1995 he moved back to “Almost Heaven” W.Va.

For those who knew him well, we will most miss his sense of humor. Speedy never met a stranger.

He will be laid to as John Denver sang “to the place I belong, WV.”

There will be a short graveside service at the burial site at Greenwood United Methodist Church on Friday, May 6 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Alzheimer’s Association.
