Doris Catherine Stahle
1936-2021
Doris Catherine Stahle, age 85, of Warfordsburg, Pa., died on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born February 7, 1936 in Needmore, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Jobe Leroy and Ruby Fern Crist Peck.
She attended Amaranth Church of the Brethren in Warfordsburg.
Doris was a graduate of Warfordsburg High School and last worked as a secretary at Southern Fulton High School in Warfordsburg.
She was an avid reader, liked to crochet and was a homemaker in recent years.
Doris is survived by her children, Homer Lynn Stahle and his companion Tammy Kendall, of Warfordsburg, Pa., Eric Leroy Stahle, of Berkeley Springs and Sharon Louise Whiteside and her husband Billy, of Warfordsburg; three sisters, Linda Pineski, of Warfordsburg, Polly Johnson, of Keewatin, Wis., and Lorna Weber, of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; eight grandchildren, James Whiteside and his wife Beth, of Accident, Md., Spencer Whiteside and his companion Andrea, of Warfordsburg, Dylan Whiteside and his wife Lora, of Mercersburg, Pa., Randy Stahle, Shannon Stahle and Destane Morris and her husband Justin, all of Warfordsburg, Christina McDermott and her husband Aaron, of Crown Point, Ind., and Ashley King and her husband Jason, of Jamesburg, N.J.; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Watson Stahle on April 20, 2019; one grandson, J.P. Whiteside and her brother, Walter L. Peck.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 4, at Amaranth Church of the Brethren, 2709 McKees Gap Road, Warfordsburg, Pa., with Pastor Freeman Snair and Pastor Delmas Bard officiating. Interment will be in Buck Valley Methodist Church Cemetery.
