Donald Sterling McBee
1928-2022
Donald Sterling McBee, age 93, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at War Memorial Hospital.
Born November 30, 1928 in Sleepy Creek, W.Va., he was the son of the late John William and Goldie Leona Tedrick McBee.
He attended Word of Deliverance Church.
Donald attended schools in Morgan County.
He worked as a machinist for Mack Truck until his retirement after 30 years of service.
Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, playing bingo and his favorite card game, Phase 10.
Donald is survived by his children, Jeffery Sterling McBee and his wife, Patsy of Berkeley Springs, Virginia Ellen Yost and her husband, Mark of Wasilla, Alaska and six grandchildren, Audrey, David, Danae, Jeff, Gwen, Olivia and six great-grandchildren, Monica, Samantha, Delenn, Dakota, Skylar, Sloan and three great-great-grandchildren, Levi, Charles and Remi, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Fay Maconaughey on June 2, 1999 and many sisters and brothers.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Private burial was in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.
