Donald O. “Don” Belford
1933-2022
Donald O’Dell “Don” Belford, 88, of Paw Paw, W.Va., died on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law surrounded by his family.
Don was born on July 21, 1933 in Great Cacapon, W.Va., the son of the late John E. and Edith L. Ginevan Belford.
Don had a passion for fishing & hunting and when he wasn’t doing either he was watching it on TV.
He was a man who provided for his family, he loved his wife dearly, and enjoyed family gatherings. Don was a much loved man.
Don married Marie Athey on September 27, 1958 in Cumberland, Md. Surviving with his wife of 63 years are two sons: Robert Belford (daughter-in-law: Peggy) of Paw Paw, W.Va.; Steven Belford (daughter-in-law: Nikki) of Bloomery, W.Va.; three daughters: Sandra Parker of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; Debra Caruthers of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; Terri Kile (son-in-law: Kile) of Paw Paw, W.Va.; a brother: Larry Belford (sister-in-law: Shelva) of Paw Paw, W.Va.; a sister: Erma Arnica (brother-in-law: Darrell) of Paw Paw, W.Va.; a sister-in-law: Orpha Belford; eight grandchildren: Renea, Dereck, Brandon, Josh, Donnie, Matt, Jennie, & Jerry; 15 great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild.
Don loved spending time with his best friend & uncle: Brother Ginevan.
He is preceded in death by a son: Craig Belford and three brothers: Vernon, Denny and Lyle Belford.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at a later date.
