Darrell Grove Funk
1943-2021
Darrell Grove Funk, 78, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at his home.
Born May 23, 1943, in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Galen Funk and Ruth Grove Funk.
His brothers Emerson Funk, Sr., of Berkeley Springs; Ralph Funk, of Hagerstown and Alvin Funk, of Hancock survive Darrell.
In addition to his parents, his oldest brother, Roland Funk, of Hagerstown, preceded Darrell in death.
Darrell was a 1961 graduate of Hancock High School and worked at London Fog, Prowler/Fleetwood Industries and Pittman’s Liquors in Hancock.
In addition, Darrell served five years in the Army 357th Transport Unit with one year of service spent in Vietnam.
In his younger years, Darrell was an avid bowler. He was also a member at the American Legion and VFW.
Darrell’s family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
