Clifford Paul Hackett

Died 7 March, 2022 Washington, D.C.

Cliff Hackett, resident of Berkeley Springs since 1980, died of natural causes on March 7th in Washington, D.C., surrounded by his loving family.

Cliff was an Army veteran, former Foreign Service Officer, and Capitol Hill staffer before retiring and beginning his writing career.

He is the author of several books about the history of the European Union.

Cliff was Secretary of the Cacapon Resort State Park Foundation for many years, and a member of the Saint Vincent De Paul parish.

He was predeceased by his wife Beatrice and son Roger, and is survived by his seven remaining children, their partners, his sister-in-law Dorothy Nied, twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Burial was in a private ceremony on March 12th.
