Bobby Junior Johnson
1940-2022
Bobby “Burk” Johnson, 81, of Hedgesville, West Virginia, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022 while under the care of Hospice.
Bobby previously lived in Little Cove, Mercersburg, Pennsylvania and Big Cove Tannery in Fulton County, Pennsylvania before moving in with his daughter.
Born Sunday, August 25, 1940 in Hancock, Maryland, he was the son of the late Joseph L. Johnson and Mary E. Weller Johnson.
He attended James Buchanan School.
He worked for C. William Hetzer Construction as a large drill operator until he retired after 39 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina Saylor and husband Jamie of Hedgesville and one sister, Louise Fritz of Little Cove, Mercersburg, Pennsylvania.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Martha Marie Schetrompf Johnson; five sisters, Catherine Grove, Frances Weller, Beulah Shoemaker, Goldie Johnson and Agnes Keefer; one brother, Roger E. Johnson.
A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 5 p.m. at Hope Community Church in Hedgesville, West Virginia with Pastor Chris Jones offficiating.
Interment will be at a later date.
