Betty June Lezzer
1932-2021
Betty June Lezzer, age 89, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Friday, August 27, 2021 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born January 5, 1932 in Tazewell, Va., she was the daughter of the late James Issac and Mae Mitchell Martin.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Altar & Rosary Society and volunteered at Nazareth House.
Betty was a graduate of Tazewell High School and had worked as the manager of a fabric store. In addition to being a homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, shopping and was an active community volunteer.
Betty is survived by her children, Stefanie Lynn Fratantaro and her husband John, of Calabash, N.C., William Edward Lezzer, Jr. of Berkeley Springs, Valerie Ann Wall of Ashland City, Tenn., Laura Beth Kraus and her partner Alfred Pallante of Langhorne, Pa. and James Francis Lezzer and his wife Karen, of Fuquay Varina, N.C., 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Lezzer, Sr. on April 17, 2017, five sisters and six brothers.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, P.O. Box 634, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
