Morgan County Observatory Foundation annual Astronomy/Rocketry youth summer camp will be held the weeks of August 5-9 and 12-16 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Camp is geared towards kids from 8-15 years old and includes building and launching model rockets, telescope building, solar viewing, hands on activities, movies, games and more.
Each day consists of morning and afternoon rocket launches, midday snack and movie break, along with other astronomy related activities.
Kids learn how rockets work by building, launching, recovering and repairing their own model rockets throughout the week.
Family night at the observatory for stargazing and using the telescopes and other materials children make will also be available.
Parents are encouraged to call, email or go to the website for more information and sign up soon as space is limited.
Applications are available online, at Morgan County Public Library, Portals, the Boy’s and Girl’s Club and Community Garden Market.
