Willie F. Jones
1935-2019
Willie Franklin “Pete” Jones, 84, of Berkeley Springs, died Sunday, October 13, 2019 at his home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born June 4, 1935 in Pine Top, Va., he was the son of the late William and Gladys Ruth Pritt Jones.
He was a member of Greenwood Church.
He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and retired Master Sargent First Class.
He liked working on the farm.
He is survived by one daughter, Lorraine Wacaster, Berkeley Springs; two brothers, Robert Jones, Newburg, Md. and Stanley Jones, Fairfield, Pa.; four grandchildren, Jason Jones and Torrey Wacaster, both of Berkeley Springs, Jeremy Wacaster, Inwood and Travis Jones of Maryland and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Elizabeth Jones on January 25, 2019; one son, Thomas Jones; two brothers, Wallace Jones and Norman Jones and two sisters, Mary Jones and Hellen Carter.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 20 from 1-2 p.m. at Greenwood United Methodist Church, 12031 Winchester Grade Road, Berkeley Springs and service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Lloyd McCanna officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard will be in adjoining cemetery.
