William T. Kratz, Sr.
1928-2020
William “Bill” Thomas Kratz Sr., 92, of Clear Spring, Md., passed away Friday, January 8, 2021, at Fahrney Keedy Nursing Home in Boonsboro, Md.
Born September 8, 1928, in Clear Spring, MD, he was the son of the late William Henry Kratz and Ellen Frances (Kline) Kratz.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.
He attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Clear Spring.
Bill retired from Pangborn in Hagerstown and was previously employed with Fairchild.
After retirement, Bill and his wife, Betty, enjoyed buying and selling antiques together.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty (Moore) Kratz; two daughters, Stephanie Metcalf (Dave) and Lisa E. Kratz; a son, William T. Kratz Jr. (Sherri); a grandson, Bryan W. Kratz; step grandchildren, Jennifer Dunn and Jason Metcalf; and a great-grandson, Duke J. Kratz.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Higgins and Jane Everett; and a grandson, Thomas J. Kratz.
There will be no viewing or visitation. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
