William L. Platt
1934-2019
William Leonard Platt, 85, of Paw Paw, died Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Berkeley Springs Nursing & Rehab Center.
Born February 25, 1934 in Kiefer, Md., he was the son of the late Owen Alonza Platt and Mary Emma Carder Platt.
He was a graduate of Oldtown High School Class of 1953, and a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force.
He did home repairs and renovations and was a member of the Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church and the Harley Bohrer American Legion Post #128 in Paw Paw.
He is survived by his companion, Joan Kline Maggio, Paw Paw; three sisters, Nancy Fortson, Atwater, Calif., Mary Buzzanca and Josephine Musialowski, both of Paw Paw; two brothers, Leroy Platt, New Carrollton, Md., and Donald Platt, Upper Saddle River, N.J.; a daughter and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 9 at Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church, Oldtown.
Pastor William G. Piper officiated. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Sulphur Springs Cemetery, Kiefer.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Kimble Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
