William Carl King, Sr.
1936-2019
William Carl King, Sr., 82, of Berkeley Springs, died Thursday, April 25, 2019 at his home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born May 26, 1936 in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Edward Ross and Anna Elsa Jupitz King.
He was a Christian. He attended public schools in Baltimore and worked as a longshoreman with Local #333 in Baltimore.
He liked woodworking, was an avid coin collector and kept his lawn manicured.
He is survived by his wife of 40 1/2 years, Geraldine Gail Whittaker King, at home; his children, William King, Jr. and Michael King, both of Baltimore, David King, Glen Burnie, Md., Richard King, Sr. and Joseph King, both of Berkeley Springs, Brian King, Laurel, Del., Debra Dowden, Hanover, Pa., Patricia Barton, Aberdeen, Md. and Ronald Hynson, Jr., Pasadena, Md.; one sister, Linda King, Baltimore; two brothers, Edward King of Maryland and Michael Vogel, Baltimore; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces ane nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley King, Anna King and Sissy Hamilton and one brother, Richard King, Sr.
Funeral services was conducted on Saturday, April 27, at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs. Rev. William C. Swope officiated. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
