William A. Lally, Sr.
1941-2019
William Alexius Lally, Sr., 77, of Berkeley Springs, died at Cadia Healthcare of Hagerstown, Hagerstown, Md.
Born November 28, 1941 in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Patrick Francis and Anne Josephine Miller Lally.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
He graduated from Mount St. Joseph High School in Baltimore.
He was a writer for News American for 30 years.
He worked for the Social Security Administration and for Congress woman Helen Bently.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dolores Emory Lally, at home; three children, William Lally II and Brian Lally, both of Baltimore and June Roscoe, Park City, Utah; two sisters, Mary Rossbach and Clare Maher, both of Baltimore; two brothers, Patrick Lally and John Lally, both of Baltimore; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant sister, Anne Lally.
Mass of Christian Burial was conducted Friday, April 5 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Berkeley Springs. Rev. Fr. Leonard A. Smith as celebrant. Burial was private.
Arrangements are being handled by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs.
