Ward L. LaRue

1931-2019

Ward L. LaRue, 87, died July 31, 2019 in Williamsport, Md.

Born on October 1, 1931 in Tunnelton, he was the son of the late George R. and L. Fay (Maier) LaRue.

He graduated from Tunnelton High School, served overseas in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and graduated from Shepherd College in 1958.

He lived most of his life in West Virginia.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E. (McGee) LaRue, who he married on October 1 1953; five children: Stephen LaRue, Renee Brown, Eric LaRue, Jill Humbel and Julie Shiben; 15 grandchildren: Emily Cilley, Peter LaRue, Bennett LaRue, Rosemary Brown, David Brown, Michael Brown, Andrew Gilroy, Shane Mills, Kaitlin LaRue, Ellen Humbel Tyler Humbel, Samuel Humbel, Joshua Shiben, Kelsey Shiben and Elliot Shiben; five great-grandchildren; his sister Gloria Miller.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his identical twin brother Wade LaRue and his sister Sue Stanton.

Memorial donations in his memory, can be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 7 from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Waynesboro Country Club, 11000 Country Club Rd, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
