Velma H. Mann
1926-2019
Velma Hope Mann, age 93, of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019 in the Pennknoll Village Nursing Home, in Everett, Pa.
Born June 19, 1926, in Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Chester and Isabelle (Ray) Bishop; and the widow of Charles Bruce Mann, whom she married August 3, 1945 and who died August 27, 2017.
She was a member of the Buck Valley Christian Church, in Warfordsburg.
Velma was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and friends, and also quilting and working in her garden.
She is survived by a son, Garry Bruce Mann and his wife, Suzanne, of Warfordsburg; a daughter, Gloria Joan Tritle, of Needmore, Pa.; four grandchildren, Dane Tritle and his wife, Donnia, of Waynesboro, Pa., Vaughn Tritle and his wife, Michele, of Needmore, Michelle Kazazic and her husband, Arnel, of Cumberland, Md., and Todd Tritle and his friend, Shawn Fitz, of Waynesboro, Pa.; and six great-grandchildren, Logan, Connor, Dillon, Taya, Rylie and Kenzie.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Shives and Eileen Swain; a brother, Lloyd Bishop; and a grandson, Shawn Mann.
The family received friends on Monday, December 2, 2019, from 6 until 8 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., and at the church for one hour prior to the start of funeral services. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 11 a.m., at the Buck Valley Christian Church, 2261 Harmonia Road, Warfordsburg, Pa., with Pastor Bill Croteau officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining church cemetery.
