Town tree lit for the season

Hancock in Motion, with help from three Girl Scout troops, hosted Hancock’s annual tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, November 24 at Joseph Hancock Park. In addition to lighting the public tree, organizers arranged a visit to town by Santa and Mrs. Claus. Children and families were able to spend time talking with the North Pole visitors, and had cookies and hot chocolate, provided by area Girl Scouts. Children were also given a goody bag after talking with Santa. Christmas caroling was added to the night’s festivities.
