Thelma J. Broadwater
1927-2019
Thelma June Broadwater, 92, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at her residence.
Born June 10, 1927 in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Grace Manning.
She was a waitress at the Park-n-Dine in Hancock for several years.
She was a member of the Barton Post #189 American Legion.
She liked to cook, shop and go to the casino.
She is survived by her children, Stanley Broadwater, Barton, Pete Broadwater, Mill Run, Jesse Broadwater, Frostburg, Diane Hamilton, Rawlings and Belinda Valentine, Garrett, Pa.; 11 grandchildren, Brian Broadwater, Luke Broadwater, Josh Broadwater, Jesse “JR” Broadwater, Casey Broadwater, Cindy Wilt, Robbie Hamilton, Jamie Hamilton, Stacey Host, Jessica Lupis and Ashley Lewis and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 plus years Marvin Marshall Broadwater, two brothers, Homer Manning and Diz Manning; one sister, Lucille Flowers and one granddaughter, Marsha Broadwater.
A funeral service was conducted at Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, Saturday, October 19. Pastor Thomas Morgan officiated. Interment was at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
