Sunny skies and family fun at the Cacapon State Park Homecoming

The Cacapon State Park Lake looked restful and refreshing as families enjoyed boating at Sunday’s Homecoming event.

Bob Williams performed a variety of oldies at Sunday’s Homecoming event that included the Beatles “All My Loving” and “Baby It’s You”, Credence Clearwater Revival’s “Who’ll Stop the Rain” and the classics “Ain’t Misbehaving” and “Stand By Me.” Other entertainment included All Grassed Up, Adam Keeling, Kate Evans and Stage Left.

Retired Cacapon State Park Superintendent Tom Ambrose (standing on right) recognized Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) worker P.T. McIntire (seated on right) at the Cacapon State Park Homecoming event for helping build the park in the 1930’s. The Civilian Conservation Corps constructed the Old Inn, the picnic area, the stables, cabins, the lake and around 20 miles of hiking and horse trails. Also pictured are Cacapon State Park Superintendent Scott Fortney (standing in middle), Assistant Park Superintendent Kelly Smith (standing on left) and Cacapon State Park Foundation president Jim Michael.
