Morgan County Starting Points has a new location inside the Senior Life Services of Morgan County facility at 106 Sand Mine Road as of today, January 22. That facility is the former U.S. Silica building.
“We’re excited to embark on this new adventure and partnership,” Starting Points Executive Director Audrey Morris said.
Movers are bringing big items during their move today while staff was packing and transporting smaller things that could be loaded into their vehicles.
Starting Points has run its family services agency out of the county-owned Community Services Building — the former Bath District School on Green Street—for several years. The county’s Economic Development Authority is selling the former school building and officials advised agencies operating out of the building to find alternative locations for their programs.

The Mealtime Community Kitchen will be operating from the Senior Life Services Center by Februa
ry 7, Morris said on Monday.
Starting Points will be using the Senior Center’s kitchen and sharing space at the Senior Center.
The Mealtime Community Kitchen was scheduled to be closed on Friday, January 24 and would reopen on Monday, January 27.
The Mealtime Community Kitchen serves free meals on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Morris said the Starting Points Play Group has already been moved to the Senior Center. It meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with program coordinator Sharon Abdelaal.
The Healthy Grand Families program will also move to the Senior Center. Their first meeting of the year was set for January 23 at 6 p.m. Healthy Grand Families is a program for relative caregivers — grandparents and other family members — who are raising children that aren’t their own, Morris said.
