Stanley W. Grove
1950-2019
Stanley William Grove, 68, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, April 26, 2019 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.
Born July 3, 1950 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the D. Elaine Stickell Grove Squibb and Charles “Skeeter” Squibb of Hagerstown and the late William Daniel “Bob” Grove.
He had attended Christ Reformed Church in Hagerstown.
He was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He worked for many years as a truck driver and retired as a window salesman with Hagerstown Paint and Glass.
He liked hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jacqueline Yvette Shuman Grove, at home; his children, Robert Grove and Heather Grove, both of Hagerstown, Scott Sheppard, Cheyenne, Wyo. and Robert Whittington, Clear Spring, Md.; one sister, Debra Shank, Hagerstown; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Shawn Whittington.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 1 at Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery, 5377 Martinsburg Road, Berkeley Springs where family and friends will assemble at 1:45 p.m. Pastor Tony Pirrone will officiate.
