Southern Fulton edges Lady Indians 2-0 in final soccer match

In what turned out to be their last soccer game of the 2020 season the Berkeley Springs High School Lady Indians dropped a hard fought contest to the visiting Southern Fulton Lady Indians of Pennsylvania 2-0 last Thursday, October 15.
Goalkeeper Whitney Hiles had 26 saves in the net. Berkeley Springs got shots on the Southern Fulton goal from Mikaila Ek, Britney Huntley and Caitlin Childers.
Berkeley Springs ended their season with a record of 5-11.
With Saturday’s announcement that Morgan County Schools would be orange on the state covid map the 2020 season ended for Berkeley Springs.
The Lady Indians will not be able to participate in the Class AA Sectional playoffs.
Final career and regular season stats for the Berkeley Springs Lady Indians soccer team. Seniors Ek (three years, 35 goals), Childers (four years, 15 goals) and Kira Havermale (four years, defense, one goal).
Regular season stats as a team the Lady Indians scored 34 goals led by Ek (16), Huntley (8), Childers (7), Charlotte Williams (1), Nataley Olsen (1) and Camdyn Huntley (1). Hiles (236 saves) and Kaitlyn Brice (88 saves) recorded a total of 324 saves in goal.
“The above stats are the highlights of the entire team. The offense, midfield and defense with assists, corner kicks, ball handling, passes, and clears make the Lady Indians,” stated Lady Indians head coach Steve Havermale.
