Shirley A. Pentoney
1938-2019
Shirley Anne Bushman Pentoney, age 80, of Berkeley Springs, WV, died on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility in Kearneysville, WV.
Born March 26, 1938 in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late William “Shorty” and Ruth Elizabeth Mason Bowers.
She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church at Spohrs Crossroads, WV.
Shirley was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.
She retired in 2001, after 21 years of service, from the West Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60.
She enjoyed gardening, yard work, was a hard worker and devoted to her family.
She loved her beloved dog “Shandy.”
Shirley is survived by her children, Randy Lynn Bushman and his fiancée Deb Fries of Mercersburg, PA, Kandy Elizabeth Kulus of Berkeley Springs and Michael Robert “Mick” Pentoney, Jr. and his wife Dawn of Wake Forest, NC and four grandchildren, Jeremiah Jenkins and Michael Jenkins, both of Berkeley Springs, Lucas Pentoney and Nicholas Pentoney, both of Wake Forest, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV with Rev. William C. Swope officiating. Interment will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
