Sewer manager Scott Crunkleton of the Warm Springs Public Sewer District told the Bath Town Council on June 18 that since a sewer line extension on U.S. 522 to about the Morgan County Ball Field is being discussed, would the town want to extend the public water line as well.
He said a meeting with Thrasher Engineering on Friday, June 28 at 11 a.m. is scheduled to discuss cost estimates at the Morgan County Commission room. He said the sewer department has no funding yet.
Town Recorder Susan Webster said public water customers are not obligated to hook up to the water lines like the sewer customers, who must hook up to the sewer lines. Crunkleton said 120 customers would be served on the sewer line.
He said he would like the town to extend its water lines. The town’s water department has the first right of refusal, Crunkleton said.
Webster said the West Virginia Public Service Commission (WVPSC) allows water lines to be extended 25 miles outside the town limits. She said the council will refer this to the town-owned water department, Berkeley Springs Water Works.
