Morgan County School Superintendent Kristen Tuttle said Monday that the school face mask requirements would remain the same for the rest of the school year for students, staff and visitors indoors and outdoors. The last day of school for students is next Friday, May 28.
School officials had earlier revised the rules, allowing masks to be removed for outdoor physical activity/physical education class.
Schools will continue under these mask requirements through June 20 per Governor Jim Justice’s guidance, Tuttle said.
What occurs during school summer programs after that will depend on the Governor’s and the CDC regulations.
Rules in place for graduation
Face masks and social distancing requirements will be in place for both Berkeley Springs High Schools and Paw Paw High Schools graduation ceremonies, Tuttle said.
Berkeley Springs High School graduation guidance posted on Facebook said that all graduates and guests must wear a mask until they are seated. Masks will be required when leaving the field.
Graduates will be seated in a socially distanced manner. Guests will be divided into socially distanced grids where they’ll remain as a group. Each guest needs to bring a lawn chair.
That follows the same format as last year’s in-person graduation ceremonies at both Berkeley Springs High School and Paw Paw High School.
