1943-2021
Ronald Autry Johnson, age 77, of Mercersburg, Pa., died on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.
Born September 3, 1943 at Little Cove, Mercersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Quay Adna and Larue Sarah Fritz Johnson.
He attended Hancock Presbyterian Church.
Ronnie went to James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg.
He had worked at Martin Marietta, Pangborn Corporation and as a forklift operator at General Motors from 1968 until his retirement in 1999.
He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and the Williamsport Redmen’s Club. He was a 32nd degree mason with Mediary Lodge #140 in Williamsport and the Cumberland Scottish Rite. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Mercersburg Post #517.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pamela Estalee Shoemaker Johnson, at home; his daughter, Lisa Charmae Haulman and two grandchildren, Clay Thor Haulman and Jacob William Haulman, all of Mercersburg.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Hancock Presbyterian Church, 17 East Main Street, Hancock, Md. where the family received friends from 1-2:30 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Terry Martin-Minnich officiated. Interment was private.
