Robert James “Jim” Gracey, age 15 of Mt. Olivet, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 in Washington, Pa.

He was born February 25, 2004 in Wheeling, W.Va.

He was a freshman and an honor roll student at John Marshall High School in Glen Dale where he played clarinet for the JMHS Marching Monarchs and Concert Band; played viola for the Marshall County Strings Orchestra and the JMHS Chamber Orchestra; and was an actor in the Monarch Company.

He was an avid Bass guitarist; a dedicated “Dungeons & Dragons” player and did the audio visual services for the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents: Robert and Mary Gracey; Stephen and Anna Celia Zapka; Robert and Dorine Renner and Jack and Lorraine Hall.

Survivors include his parents: Jonathan B. and Jane Renner Gracey, formerly of Berkeley Springs; his sister: Alaina B. Gracey of Wheeling; paternal grandparents Robert W. and Patricia J. Gracey of Wheeling; maternal grandparents: Rodney L. and Karen Renner of Silver Spring, Md. and Jeanne M. and Nicholas Tracht of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

He will be greatly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends from JMHS.

The funeral was held Saturday, May 4 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.

Memorial contributions may be made to the JMHS Band or the Marshall County Strings Orchestra.
