1948-2019

Robert David O’Toole, age 70, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at WVU Medicine, Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

Born April 14, 1948 in Stone Park Maternity Hospital, Beckenham, Kent, England, he was the son of the late Terrence Kinsella and Marie Gaetane O’Toole.

Robert attended the local infant school in Uxbridge, near London, England. He furthered his education at schools in Devon, England and Wiltshire, England.

Robert lived with his parents as they moved to his father’s various posts in Japan, Iraq and Germany.

Robert moved to the US in the mid-70s to play in various rock bands and to start a music school.

Robert was a founding partner of Classic Glass, Inc., an architectural art glass company in the DC Metro area since 1981. As the Creative Director, Robert designed and fabricated hundreds of unique and beautiful panels of decorative glass. Examples of his work can be seen in Government agencies, Corporate offices, restaurants, hotels, and in private residences in the DC area.

Robert was an accomplished musician, playing string instruments, especially the guitar. He was a sketch artist, chess player and performed with a ukulele band.

The celebration of his life will take place on the afternoon of April 14th at Classic Glass, Inc., 4218 Howard Avenue, Kensington Md. Burial will be private.
