1939-2018

Richard “Dick” Lee Knight, 79, of Hagerstown, Md., went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, November 1, 2018, at the Meritus Medical Center.

Born Thursday, April 13, 1939 in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late George E. Knight and the late Henrietta V. (Snow) Knight.

Dick graduated from Hancock High School in 1957. He was employed at Mack Trucks, retiring in 2004, after 42 years.

Dick attended The Good Shepherd Ministries.

He served in the US Army and Army reserve.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Tonoloway Rod and Gun Club, North American Rod and Gun Club, Greencastle Sportsman Club and the NRA. He was also a member of the Hancock American Legion Post 26, Fraternal Order of Police, and Williamsport Redmen Tribe 84 and was a volunteer for the Hancock Rescue Squad and Hancock Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Judith Elaine Knight; three daughters, Vicki L. Fisher and husband, Jimmy and Susan L. Tibbens and husband, Ron and Kristi L. Palmer all of Hagerstown, Md.; grandchildren, Cree Broadus, Tai Mason and Alex Tibbens; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Elsie Holland and Virginia Mackereth; brother, Clarence Knight; grandsons, Colby Fisher and Ronald E. Tibbens, III.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at 1 p.m., at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North Hagerstown, Md., with Rev. Kenneth Brown officiating.

Family received friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, November 6, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment will be at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, Md.
