Ralph E. Jay
1948-2018
Ralph Eugene Jay, 70, of Warfordsburg, Pa., died Wednesday, October 17, 2018.
Born May 11, 1948 in Artemas, Pa., he was the son of the late Leo and Margaret Schetrompf Jay.
He was a member of Mays Chapel Christian Church in Warfordsburg.
He graduated from Everett High School in Everett, Pa.
He retired as a mechanic from Morral Brothers Garage in Everett and caretaker of Fairview Cemetery in Artemas, Pa. for nearly 20 years.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Anna Viola Powell Jay at home; his children, Dianna Kerns, Hedgesville, W.Va. and Barbara Vanorsdale, Berkeley Springs; one brother, Gary Jay, Artemas; four grandsons, Samuel Kerns and Nathaniel Kerns, both of Hedgesville, Charles Vanorsdale and Landon Vanorsdale, both of Berkeley Springs and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, October 22 at Mays Chapel Christian Church, Warfordsburg. Rev. Russell Hoffman officiated.
Burial was in Fairview Church Cemetery, Artemas.
