Priscilla M. Householder

1918-2019

Priscilla Marie Householder, age 100, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Monday, June 10, 2019 at Country Side Assisted Living in Martinsburg, W.Va. while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born October 18, 1918 at Power House Dam in Great Cacapon, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Elmer Clifton and Bertha Viola Henry Whisner.

She was a member Calvary United Methodist Church in Great Cacapon, W.Va., where she was the oldest and the longest member.

She attended school in Great Cacapon.

She worked for Munson’s and Merica stores in Great Cacapon and in recent years was a homemaker.

She was a member of the ladies Auxiliary in Great Cacapon Fire Department.

She was very active in her church and enjoyed painting, ceramics.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Sergek and husband Stephen of Warrenton, Va., one son John D. Householder and wife Ginny of Falling Waters, W.Va. Four grandchildren, Dennie R. Swaim, Troy D. Householder, Dannie P. Swaim and Aleksandr M. Sergek. Five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth McGowan and her second husband, Albert Daniel Householder, one sister, Mary Ellen Kesecker and four brothers, Eldwin, Charles, Alvin “Bud” and Eugene Whisner.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 5371 Central Ave, Great Cacapon, W.Va. with Pastor Steve Dawson officiating.

Family received friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be private. Family received friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 36 S. Green Street, Berkeley Springs.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 5371 Central Avenue, Great Cacapon, WV 25422.
